Before his death in December 1990 Dr. Heimler decided that there should be a governing body that regulates copyright issues. In his last Will he set up a Literary Trust, of which Mrs. Miriam B. Heimler is the main trustee.
Therefore, the following legalities must be observed.

The copyright of the Heimler Scale of Social Functioning (HSSF) and derived versions thereof, as well as the copyright of all books, articles, writings, and the entire literary estate of Prof. Dr. Eugene Heimler are held by the Trustees of the estate:

It is necessary to obtain written permission from the copyright holders for the following:

• translations of books and of the Heimler Scale of Social Functioning and derived           versions thereof
• publication, in part or in full, of the Heimler Scale of Social Functioning and derived
  versions thereof
• reproductions of books and of the Heimler Scale of Social Functioning and derived   versions thereof
• to use the Heimler Scale of Social Functioning and derived versions thereof for research
  purposes
